impressions

When people fill out a communication card as a first time guest, we send them a letter and ask for their first impressions. Here’s a few things I’ve seen recently from our guests:

“I felt comfortable in this church.”

“It’s a diverse congregation.”

“The worship was great!”

“The word was easy to understand.”

“Very friendly and welcoming!”

“Awesome message and worship.”

“Beautiful service!”

“Friendly atmosphere.”

“Made me feel welcomed.”

“The band, the sound/visual crew, the message!!”

My favorite one, because it’s what I pray about every week:

Why would I come back? “Because I felt my Lord and Savior’s presence here!”

That’s all the good stuff. I suppose if someone really didn’t like their experience, they wouldn’t take the time to fill out a card and put it in the mail. However, while on a mostly positive card this week, one line really haunted me.

I’ll tell you about it this weekend. We still have some work to do!
