Four and a half years ago, my daughters came to me with the idea of doing the Daniel Fast. I was interested but said, “If this is just a diet plan so you look good in a bikini, I’m not interested. If we’re going to do this and pray for each other, I’m in.”
I’ll say the same thing to you…basically. There are a lot of diets and plans to be in better shape and loose some weight after the holidays. However, if you really want to seek God and spend some additional time reading His Word and praying…then this is for you!
As important as all the food prep, grocery lists and plans are…your spiritual preparation is even more important.
- Begin making a prayer list/journal that you can use to focus your prayer thoughts and keep track of God’s answers for the next 21 days.
- If you don’t already have a reading plan for the new year, you can start reading one chapter a day from the Gospel of John, starting this Sunday. You could also add the one chapter a day to your regular reading plan.
- Connect with a few others to not only talk about recipes or even have a Daniel Fast pot-luck, but to pray together and encourage each other along the way.
We do have a Facebook Group page set up for anyone doing the Daniel Fast with us. Check it out: The Daniel Fast at Community.
