On the first of May, Zuri started working with our team as our Music Director for our weekend worship bands. He has done an amazing job and has introduced our church to more great, gifted musicians that love the Lord…and by the way, love Community.

Soon after we hired him he got an offer from UC Berkley to finish his schooling there. It was such a good deal for him I encouraged him to take it, even though I knew we’d miss him when the end of summer came. Well, we’re almost to the end of his summer. His last weekend with us will be August 22-23.

Zuri has brought his own unique gift set and, in a very short time, has left his mark here. His roll has been huge as we have different worship leaders from week to week. While we love the variety of the different leaders, our Music Director is able to bring some continuity with the ever-changing faces on stage.

We’ll see Zuri again at Christmas break and some other times I’m sure, but I wanted you all to know this so that during the next couple of weekends you’ll be able to send him off with our gratitude for what he’s done for us at Community.
