Again, I want to thank Gil Olsen of Bible Fellowship Church for organizing our daily prayer thoughts throughout this 10 Day prayer journey.
Day Six:
Prayer for Ourselves: Pray that God will strengthen you to want to help the helpless wherever you find them. Ask the LORD to show how you might do this by hosting internationals in your home, adopting an orphan, developing a relationship with someone in real need and giving them friendship, clothing, food, money for training so they can learn a craft and get ahead, etc.
Prayer for our Valley: Pray for the churches and individuals in our Valley to support Christian Ministries that are reaching out to the “poor and downtrodden” (Luke 4:18-20). Ministries like Life Choice, My City Life Youth Center, The Restart Center and Calicinto Ranch.
Pray for our Nation: Pray that our leaders would work in unity and not over tax the middle class so that people who are working and earning wages might give more generously to the needs of the poor.
Pray for the World: (Deuteronomy 10:18-19) “He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.” Slavery: Human trafficking, sexual exploitation and global lust are consuming lives – “Trafficking often occurs from less developed con tries to more developed counties, where people are rendered vulnerable to trafficking by virtue of poverty, conflict or other conditions… Europe is the destination for victims from the widest range of destinations, while victims from Asia are trafficked to the widest range of destinations. The Americas are prominent both as the origin and destination of victims of human trafficking.” Pray that consumers worldwide would choose to stop buying slaves; that they would protect those who cannot protect themselves, and supplying slaves would have a change of heart to stop fueling the cycle of suffering with the lives of their fellow humans.
