Stepping In: Getting things started!

1- If you grew up in a church, was it more focused on the insiders or those who needed to know Jesus? Give an example. If you didn’t grow up in a church, what was your impression of churches?

2- While we’re not the perfect church, share one thing about Community you really appreciate…one thing that will make us effective in reaching those far from God.

Building Up: What is God Saying?

Read Acts 2:42-47. Now answer the following questions:

1 – Give some examples of how we can practically follow through with the four things the early church “devoted” themselves to in verse 42.

2 – After reading verse 43, discuss some miracles and amazing things you’ve seen God do THROUGH you and the people around you. What are some reasons we perhaps aren’t in “awe” in today’s American church?

3 – Look at verses 44-45 again. Now, aside from the obvious blessing of needs being met, what are some of the other many benefits for us and others when we are generous with our money, generous with our stuff, generous with our lives?

4 – What could we do to live out verse 46 more consistently and more strategically in our lives, in our church, and in our LifeGroup? What does this look like in the midst of our busy schedules, commuting, kids in sports, etc?

5 – Share some ways you’ve seen verse 47 fulfilled today. Then, finish the following thoughts…

We could enjoy the favor of God more by…
Our Valley would stand up and take notice more when…
We could see “daily” conversions if…

Living Out: How do I obey?

1- Looking at verse 42, which of those 4 commitments do you tend to connect with the most naturally? Why?

2 – What have you learned from making and keeping commitments (of any kind)? How can you apply those lessons to the commitments we’re making with RELENTLESS? (Every day with Jesus, Practical Love, Intentional Ministry, Comprehensive Investment)
