Stepping In: Getting things started!

1- What is some of the best advice you’ve ever heard about thriving in a marriage?

2- From the weekend message, which one of the following points spoke to you in the strongest way, and why?  (Communication, Consideration, Compromise, Courtship, Commitment, Christ)

Building Up: What is God Saying?

**If not married, apply these verses to your every day relationships with family, at work or with friends.

Read Philippians 2:1-2:

1 – While not specifically about marriage, how can these verses speak life into a marriage?

2 – What keys for a great marriage are found here?

3 – Give examples of being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.

Read Philippians 2:3:

1 – Give examples of how selfish ambition or vain conceit hurts a marriage.

2 – What are ways people can show they value their spouse above themselves? If you’re not married, how can this work in your other relationships?

Read Philippians 2:4:

1 – If married, what’s an interest your spouse has that you could be more supportive of or participate in?

Read Philippians 2:5-8:

1 – After reading about Jesus’ attitude toward us, how does this challenge you in your relationships and marriage?

2 – How is sacrifice the most compelling and attractive expression of love in any relationship?  (Remember this in, John 15:13?)

3 – What’s an example of sacrifice in your marriage or in a friendship that flat out left you feeling loved?

Living Out: How do I obey?

1 – Share with your group one attitude adjustment you want to make starting now.

2 – Make plans to put together your Easter eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt at the stadium. Remember, these need to be turned in no later than March 21.
