This past weekend at Community we had 25 people get baptized! We knew of only four ahead of time. When the invitation to come and follow Jesus and start a new life was given, people in every service jumped at the opportunity.

Here’s what one man said later in an email to me. I share it with his permission.

Hey pastor John,

I knew I was being tested when asked Sunday morning if I was going to church. I’m so glad I said yes cause that message you gave inspired my wife to let go of all my wrong doing in the past and let God take control and I was inspired by that and got baptized to let all my wrongdoing go and let God into my life to work in me and change me. I was one of those people sitting in the stands on Easter and didn’t get up to come down to the stage, my heart was being tugged on and I knew it, so I definitely couldn’t pass up this last Sunday’s offer.

“Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (Romans 6:3-4 NIV)
