We count people in our weekend services because people COUNT. We count the LifeGroups and the people involved because spiritual growth COUNTS. And yes, we count baptisms because each person that surrenders their life to Jesus…well, you know.

So, as many of you also know, we passed a pretty special milestone in the life of our church family. We’ve now baptized over 1,000 people in our worship center. We’re actually at 1,005 now because we had 10 more people baptized on Sunday. Bernice Hunter got the party started as her son Rick baptized her.

We opened the doors of this building in January, 2004, and now 10 1/2 years later God is still working in some very special ways!!!

Thank you Community for praying, loving and inviting your friends to meet Jesus in this place.

At the end of some amazing services this past weekend, we handed out green ribbons (and you can get one next weekend if you missed all the excitement). As we wear them we’re remembering what God has done these past 10 1/2 years. It also shows that we’re praying for and inviting the next one to come and meet Jesus in this place.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)
