In reading What On Earth Am I Here For? on Saturday, I came across some powerful and profound things Rick Warren shared. Many of you are reading this book, but in case you’re not, here’s some golden thoughts on the subject of worship.
Actually, in today’s devotional, Rick Warren has been talking about those times in our life when God feels distant. He is just reminding us to trust God whether our feelings get it or not. He then turns to worship and says:
“The most common mistake we make in worship today is seeking an experience rather than seeking God.”
Soon after that, he continues with:
“Yes, He wants you to sense His presence, but He’s more concerned that you trust Him than that you feel Him. Faith, not feelings, pleases God.”
That’s pretty deep and very practical.
When you come to worship with Community, lets all seek HIM!
