Every Day With Jesus. That’s the first part of our commitment in The Epic Life. Yesterday, while I was reading, I came to a couple of verses that spoke loudly and clearly about this part of our daily commitment. I wanted to pass them on to you. When I read God’s Word I make some notes using the following format. Here’s what I wrote yesterday.

Date:  December 11, 2013

Scripture:   Hebrews 4:12-13 (NCV)

God’s word is alive and working and is sharper than a double-edged sword. It cuts all the way into us, where the soul and the spirit are joined, to the center of our joints and bones. And it judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts. 13 Nothing in all the world can be hidden from God. Everything is clear and lies open before him, and to him we must explain the way we have lived.

Observations:

God’s Word is simply amazing. It’s not a book, it’s a living thing that is able to reach into our heart and clear a path for God. It shows us what is true about ourselves and teaches us what is right and true about God. 

Application:

I need His Word opened before my eyes and heart each and every day. There is no substitute for listening to God’s heart, God’s wisdom, God’s direction every day of my life. Every Day with Jesus!! The Epic Life!!!

Prayer:

Dear Father, thank you for  your Word. Thank you for your wisdom and clarity into my life and situations. Help me not only be one who opens your Word, but who obeys it. I don’t just want more knowledge bouncing around in my head, I want my life aligned to Your will. Please do as you promised, complete the work you’ve begun in me. I know I have a long way to go, but hey, you’re GOD!
