Are you ready to obey?

We talked this past weekend about applying the Word of God to our lives as we read and study. It’s critical that we learn to truly LISTEN to God and then OBEY what He is telling us.

A powerful example of true obedience happens in Genesis 22. You can read the first few verses below, but you can also find it and read the whole story.

Know this. Abraham believed God. He believed God was GOOD. He believed God had a PLAN. He believed God would FULFILL HIS PROMISE. So…Abraham obeyed.

Are you ready to obey?

“After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, ‘Abraham!’ And he said, ‘Here I am.’ He said, ‘Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.’ So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac. And he cut the wood for the burnt offering and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.” (Genesis 22:1-3 ESV)
