Are you thirsty?

Are you thirsty?

“Your Maker wired you with thirst—a “low-fluid indicator.” Let your fluid level grow low, and watch the signals flare. Dry mouth. Thick tongue. Achy head. Weak knees. Deprive your body of necessary fluid, and your body will tell you.

Deprive your soul of spiritual water, and your soul will tell you.” -Max Lucado, Come Thirsty

I shared this quote from Max Lucado this past weekend. I wanted you to look at it one more time and personalize it. Ask yourself the following questions:

1-Have you been more irritable, easily angered where your temper gets the better of you?

2-Have you felt more lonely, isolated and detached from God or others who are important to you?

3-Has guilt, shame or regret plagued you in recent days?

If you answered YES to one of more of these, your soul is thirsty. Take a few minutes and ask Jesus to fill you with His life-giving Spirit!

“On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.’

By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.”  (John 7:37-39 NIV)
