Celebrating our Independence

We American’s love our independence! Our freedom is something to celebrate. It’s also good to remember our freedom came at a price. After all…Freedom isn’t free!!

This is a great Nation. We have over 200 years of being a blessing to the world. I’m always reminded of that phrase, “Blessed to be a blessing.” So yes, we have something to celebrate…it’s the responsibility we’ve been given to be a blessing.

As followers of Christ we have been set free…but not for selfish indulgence. We’ve been set free to serve and love and bless and share Jesus.

Eat your hot dogs, swim in your pools, gather with family and friends, but don’t ever forget our freedom comes with a beautiful responsibility.

“For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” (Galatians 5:13 NLT)
