One of the things you have to deal with when you travel is the different kinds of food. While our training for the pastors starts on Monday, I’m already having fun with the delicacies! So far…so good. Here are a few pictures for the fun of it:
My first night in Phnom Penh I had one of my favorites, Pho. It was very good!
As we took two days in a van to get to Battambang, we came across some crickets and tarantulas. NO, I did not eat this. Even Christopher (who likes a good tarantula) said they looked very nasty.
At one stop I tried some Red Snapper, and to my surprise…I got the whole fish! A cute moment happened when the waitress, in her broken English, came to tell me they were out of fish, but they did have Red Snapper. Um, that is fish!
Now in Battambang it’s very good. Just some of what we’ve had so far is Papaya salad, rice, quail, fish, vegetables and fruit. yum! Yes, that’s quail in this picture.
My favorite fruit is Mangosteen. They said I can have it every day! YES!! And the pineapple and bananas are amazing too!
So no, I’m not on the Daniel Fast while in Cambodia. However, I am eating some interesting stuff and praying a lot! ha.
Speaking of prayer…
Please keep praying for this trip. We’ll be training 250-300 pastors. Can’t wait to get that started!!
