This is not about how to “water down” the message in order to get more followers. You should know by now that’s not how we roll. However, today’s blog is all about something we read in Acts 15. Check it out:

Acts 15:19 (NIV) “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.”

Pay real close attention to the phrase right in the middle: “…we should not make it difficult…”

While they were dealing with the inclusion of people (Gentiles) who didn’t know much of their (Jewish) laws and traditions, we also on many occasions are dealing with people who don’t know our “church traditions.”

So, as I say regularly, if we’re going to be a church anyone can come to, we can’t expect them to be all “fixed up”, “clean”, “holy” or whatever else you want to call it before they walk through the doors.

Will you pray with me right now for 2 things?

1-We’ll continue to work hard to take away the barriers that often keep people away from God and His church.

2-We’ll keep inviting EVERYONE to Community.

Let's not make it difficult, but instead be…The church of open arms!!
