There is great physical and mental value to the 21-day Daniel Fast. No doubt, it will help you…and not just for 21 days. However, there is way more to it than that.

The focus of any fast should be our connection to God. I remember the first time our family did it, our girls brought it up first. I said, “If we’re just doing this Daniel Fast thing to look good in our bathing suits, I’m not interested. But if we’re going to pray for each other, I’m all in.”

So, how can you be praying throughout the next 21 days? Here are a few suggestions to get you started.

1-Use a prayer journal. Refer to it each day. Create a list of things you want to pray about and then pray about them. Add to the list as you go. Celebrate the prayers being answered as they happen.

2-Have a prayer partner. It could be your spouse or a friend or someone from your LifeGroup, but team up with someone that will pray with you for each of these 21-days.

3-Pray for the big picture. We all of things for our personal list, but I’ll be giving you, from time to time, things to pray for concerning our church and our valley. For example, please be praying that we find favor with the County in the process of all of our building plans being approved. And yes, you can go ahead, add it to your list and pray for that now.

4-Pray. Sounds simple doesn’t it. Sometimes we talk too much about prayer and don’t get to the prayin’. So go…pray!
