While purging some junk mail the other day, I came across this title, “Life is too short. Have an affair!” Just in case you’re wondering, I DO NOT think this is good advice, but it got me thinking. Ready?

Life is short indeed, so here are just a few take-a-ways as we ponder that reality:

Life is too short. Don’t hang on to bitterness.

I’ve seen it enough to know the damage bitterness and an unforgiving heart can do. It has a negative ripple effect on all in its path. Let it go!

Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV) Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Life is too short. Do enjoy your family.

Sure, our kids grow up fast and, before we know it, they’re out of the house. But this isn’t just about our kids. It includes your spouse, kids and your extended family. There’s a lot of ways we can waste our time in meaninglessness. Investing time with your family will not be one of life’s regrets.

Ecclesiastes 9:9a (NIV) Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, …

Life is too short. Tell people about Jesus NOW.

Easter is right around the corner and we’ll all have a great “excuse” to invite our friends again. However, please don’t wait until then to invest in those relationships. Pray and keep your eyes open for the opportunities to invite them to Community now.

2 Corinthians 6:2 (NIV) For he says,“In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
