This week we're studying about a church that finds itself throughout much of the New Testiment. In Acts 20 Paul has his last face-to-face meeting with the elders of the church in Ephesus. While investigating their conversation we get to learn more about how our church can be what God is wanting in us.
Stepping In: Getting things started!
1- What is an area of your life that has really changed since you came in contact with Jesus and His church?
Building Up: What is God Saying?
Read Acts 20:17-21. Why is “serving the Lord with humility” such an important key for all of us? Paul didn’t “hesitate” to share with others about Jesus. How does our humility help us constantly share the Gospel with others?
Read Acts 20:22-24. How was Paul able to say what he says in verse 24? What does he mean by, “I consider my life nothing…”?
Read Acts 20:25-31. How might we be guilty of the blood of those around us? What can we do to NOT be guilty of their blood?
Read Acts 20:32-35. What do you learn in these verses about our money and our material possessions? How have you experienced the blessing from giving?
Read Acts 20:36-38. It may be a guess on our part, but why do you think the relationship between the elders of the church in Ephesus and Paul was so close?
Living Out: How do I obey?
1- What do you see in this study that could help you be a more effective and significant part of God’s work right here at Community and in our own valley?
2- Plan a service project you can do as a group.
