Read John 1:1-5. John’s words are rather poetic, but powerful. What do you learn about Jesus in the opening sentences of John’s Gospel.

 

 

Read John 1:6-8. How does John the Baptist’s role help us understand our role? How was his purpose different or similar to ours?

 

 

Read John 1:9-13. What is it about Jesus that is so polarizing? Why did God make it to where we had to choose Him to be His children?

 

 

Read John 1:14. How has Jesus helped you understand God better? What is the incredible power of this phrase, “full of grace and truth”?

 

 

Read John 1:15-18. Jesus claim of being God is something John begins and ends his book with. All along the way he keeps pointing to Jesus as the One…He is the Point! How are these opening verses encouraging or helpful or even troubling to you?
