Last summer we started using a new giving app for the church called, PUSHPAY. It’s safe, secure and super simple. Now they have the ability to set up monthly reoccurring gifts. Let me tell you why we want everyone using this for your online giving method.

First of all, Paypal has been very good for us at Community. It’s been the format we have used for our online giving portal on our website. Many of us use Paypal for a number of things, so being familiar with it helped get people comfortable with giving online. However, Paypal takes a percentage of every gift that comes to the church. That’s how they make their money.

Here’s where PUSHPAY leaps ahead in this online giving format. PUSHPAY has a “per transaction” fee (which is less than $1). So, whether you give $50 or $5000, it’s still just a small transaction fee. This really adds up over time with now, nearly 30% of our giving coming via online.

Michelle and I have been using PUSHPAY since last June. Like I said up front, this is safe, secure and super simple!

Once you put your information into the app the first time, you don’t have to do that again! Now, set up a reoccurring schedule and you’re rolling. If you don’t want to do a reoccurring plan, maybe your check varies each month, you can still use it each time you give. Just put in the amount, use your 4 digit code, which you set up, and you’re done. Simple.
