After our teaching time on Monday afternoon I went on a bike ride. It’s pretty cool just to ride around and see all there is to see. While I was gone, Christopher asked one of the guys to set me up with a tour of “Rapha House” since I wanted to visit there. They are a ministry for girls who are victims of sex trafficking. They help them get out of that life, counsel and help put their lives back together and find a new way to make a living. 

So, I get back from my ride and Sam (a guy here) tells me to call this number and make an appointment. So I call and say, “My name is John Scott and I’m in the area from the USA and would like to set up an appointment. The girl that answers says, “Are you the John Scott from Hemet California?” I said, “Yes.” She then said, “I’ve known you since I was 15! This is Jennifer Barnett!!”  She’s the director of Rapha House! She and her husband, Ty, have been here for just over a year.

Actually she is Jen Osgood now, married and kids. But also, check this out. When I called her, she said, “I just left you a Facebook message because I heard you were in Cambodia.” Here’s the message:

Hi John, I’m not sure if you remember me… but I thought I’d take a chance! I heard through the grapevine that you are in Cambodia, and I am actually living in Cambodia. I wondered if there might be opportunity to connect. I’d love to hear from you. My in country cell number is ……… or you can message me here if you’d like. Looking forward to hearing from you. As it turned out, we were no more than 10 miles apart! I went to see her and her husband today. We got a tour of what they’re doing, but I kept thinking…wow…God is so amazing! This young lady became a woman that is making a serious difference in the lives of these girls!

Jen was in the youth group at Community back in the late 80’s when I was the Youth Pastor. This is just crazy cool!!!
