We’re not pulling any punches today. This is big! This whole two-year plan is actually, well…EPIC.
Seriously, don’t all of us want lives that actually matter?
Tim Hansel in his great little book, Holy Sweat, gives this challenge:
“Our lives are worth investing–and we’ll never know the many ways God wants to use us until we do. We need to be people of compelling mission and great hope who see and do the impossible. I would challenge us all to be people of that kind of contagious vision that transforms our lives and others.”
Along this same line, I love this from Winston Churchill:
“Play for more than you can afford to lose; let your reach exceed your grasp; then you will know the rules.”
We’re playing for keeps here. This is big! And that’s exactly why we’re going to follow our Leader into the unknown. This kind of a challenge is only achieved when we trust the ONLY One Who can lead the way.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV)
Prayer thought:
Love it or hate it, you are in this Valley for a purpose, God’s purpose. God wants to do things here that we cannot imagine, and He wants YOU to be a part of it! This Valley is a testimony in the making. Like the woman at the well, it is known for its sin and its shame. We have peoples' attention for all the wrong reasons. Pray that the Lord would revive this place and its people! Pray for the world to sit up and take notice when He does! And that they would believe because they have seen! Cry out to God: “LORD, SHOW US YOUR GLORY! REVEAL IT TO THE PEOPLE OF THIS VALLEY!!!” Now, believe that He WILL!
